Who We Are

Who We Are

Mission

At CHICAT, we educate and inspire youth through free arts and technology programs. We empower adults through free job training programs that help them find sustainable employment. We elevate the talents of the community through transformative arts studios, industry-driven vocational training and a beautiful space to unify the communities we serve.

Vision

United, our communities will become stronger, ignited with hope, opportunity and vitality. We strive to make an impact in our neighboring communities—North Lawndale, Little Village, and Pilsen—to help our students change the future. An important part of CHICAT’s educational commitment is to reach and teach individuals who experience barriers to academic achievement and/or sustained employment. We believe that we all deserve access to the resources necessary to provide a higher quality of life with socioeconomic stability, interpersonal and professional development and gainful employment.

Out of an abundance of caution and in support of evolving public health measures related to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Chicago Center for Arts and Technology (CHICAT) will temporarily close March 16 - 30, 2020. All youth and adult classes and programs are suspended during this time.

We intend to re-open on March 31, 2020. However, we will continue to monitor guidelines the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Chicago Department of Public Health, and the State of Illinois. We will evaluate our decision regularly and may further adjust our response as the situation develops.

We appreciate your understanding and patience while we do our part to keep the community safe and healthy.
